About Celina Vergel de Dios

I am a trauma-informed counsellor who focuses on creating a meaningful connection and working collaboratively towards your goals. I believe that the best outcomes become more achievable when you are actively involved in your therapy process. My approach advocates for you to feel emotionally healthy not only due to the absence of issues or “problems” but also due to enhancing your overall quality of life and optimizing your strengths.

Blending my training with my cultural background, I take pride in having worked with a diversity of clients surviving anxiety, depression, trauma, loss, interpersonal/relationship problems, injury recovery (including ICBC), chronic illness, assertiveness/boundaries, and life transitions (e.g., divorce/separation, retirement, empty nest). Since becoming a mother to an energetic and exuberant daughter, I also have lived experiences with fertility, pregnancy, post-partum, and parenting a child in a post-pandemic, ever-changing world.

Therapies that I am experienced in offering include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Emotional Freedom Technique/Tapping (EFT), Mindfulness, and Solution-Focused Therapy. You may also find me weaving in techniques from my experience as a Nidra meditation instructor in much of the work I do. Ask me more about what working with me will look like here.

I’m a firm believer that the key to work-life balance is self-care. As a responsible practitioner who shows up as her best for her clients, I make sure to recharge my body and soul by staying active and connected to my loved ones daily. This also makes me excited to help you develop sustainable ways of self-care, that will be unique to you and your lifestyle.
